5-Year Old Christian Boy Cut in Half by ISIS Terrorists
8/11/2014 Iraq (CP)

Following last week's capture of Qaraqosh, formerly home to Iraq's largest Christian community, thousands of Christians fled for their lives from the ruthless IS (formerly known as ISIS). Two of these Christians were the parents of a 5-year-old boy named Andrew, who was cut in half by IS militants during the attack on Qaraqosh. As IS forces are now pressing into regions previously controlled by Kurdish peshmerga fighters, many Christians are fleeing for their lives once more.
  • Pray for the renewing of comfort and strength of our Lord Jesus Christ to come upon the family of Andrew
  • Pray IS will meet swift failure by the hand of Christ
  • Pray for all Christians in Iraq during this violent storm as they seek asylum

Atheist Group Tells Georgia High School Football Team to Punt the Players
8/11/2014 United States (Fox News)

The American Humanist Association (AHA) is now threatening to sue Chestatee High School in Georgia due to accusations by a 'concerned citizen' that coaches are quoting scripture on team documents and banners, and leading students in prayer. AHA attorney Monica Miller told FoxNews.com, "It's not even solely student prayer, it's teachers and coaches praying with students." AHA is demanding all biblical and religious messages to be removed from the team's documents and materials.

  • Pray this atheist group will find Christ and accept Him as the football coaches have
  • Pray these lawsuits will fail and bring victory to Christ's name
  • Pray coaches, teachers, students and all schools will continue to stand in our Lord's name

Indonesia and Malaysia Warn: the Dream of the Caliphate Spreads to SE Asia

8/11/2014 Malaysia (Asia News)

Anti-terrorism experts from Malaysia and Indonesia have reported more are joining the Islamic State (IS) terror group (formerly known as ISIS), which is active in Iraq and Syria. After arrests and interrogations, they have discovered these extremists are planning attacks by overthrowing local governments and their secular and pluralist constitutions. They also want to impose Sharia, the Islamic law. Indonesia, the world's most populous Muslim country, has banned supporting the extremist movement, however danger looms as many officials have shown little interest in prevention and repression.
  • Pray the extremists' dream of being a part of the anti-Christ spirit will fail, and may they open their hearts to the Lord for salvation
  • Pray for a revival of Jesus Christ to come upon South East Asia
  • Pray against the spirit of deception in South East Asia

Jihadist Recruiting Growing in Morocco
8/8/2014 Morocco (Magherbia)

Morocco, a monarch country, known for protecting religious rights and freedom, has another side. Analysts are saying that northern Morocco has become a fertile breeding ground for radicalization due to it being 'underprivileged' where the extremists and their ties to street crimes flourish. Now, even women "are being radicalised and setting off for jihad to join their husbands.  The purpose of jihad is to wipe out the infidel who does not submit to Islam; all non-Muslims (and for particularly radical groups like ISIS, even Muslims from a different sect) are fair game, and Christians are already prime targets for jihadists all throughout the Middle East.

  • Pray that God would protect the innocent from the influence of radical jihadists
  • Pray against the spread of radicalism in Morocco, in Jesus' name
  • Pray for the protection of Christians in Morocco

Cuba: Religious Freedom Violations Continue to Rise, Baptist Leader Goes into Exile
8/7/2014 Cuba (CSW)

Despite granting limited concessions and privileges to select religious groups, the Cuban government continues to perpetuate and worsen its track record of religious freedom violations. A report newly released last week showed Communist government agents using more brutal and public methods in 2013 than previously seen, including mass arbitrary detentions and threats of closure, confiscation, or demolition of church buildings. In one case, a Baptist pastor who had lead his church for over 50 years resigned from his church and sought asylum in the United States, in hopes of lessening persecution against his congregation. In his absence, Cuba only increased the pressure against his church.
  • Pray the Cuban government will bring peace to the people in the name of Jesus
  • Pray for the safety of the reverend and his family as they seek asylum in the United States
  • Pray for the renewing of Christ's Spirit upon all Christians in Cuba as they endure increasing strife

Four Christian Broadcasting Volunteers Beat to Death in the Ukraine
8/7/2014 Ukraine (Assist News)

Four young FEBC (Far East Broadcasting Company) volunteers who were recently captured by pro-Russian separatists in Eastern Ukraine were brutally beaten to death for being Christians, according to a report from the organization last week. FEBC has been actively broadcasting in Ukraine for the past two decades and are reaching millions, after the deaths and their tower being shot down, they are looking for a new location in the east. "We are desperate for your prayers and for God to move in the lives of the people of Ukraine," the ministry shared last week.
  • Pray for the peace and comfort of our Lord and Savior to touch the families and friends of those killed
  • Pray for all Christians in Ukraine to continue to stand in Jesus' name, for God is always faithful even through the storms
  • Pray for the swift end to all Christ's enemies who have and will harm His children
