The Christian and Animal Rights

"Our obligations to animals are merely indirect duties to humanity. Animal nature has analogies to human nature, and to fulfill our obligations to the animals in relation to the manifestations of human nature, we are indirectly fulfilling our obligations to humanity ... We can judge the heart of a man by his treatment with the animals. "(Immanuel Kant).

"Compassion for animals is intimately connected with goodness of character, and can be safely asserted that whoever is cruel to animals can not be a good man." (Arthur Schopenhauer)

"Killing animals gradually destroys our sense of compassion, which is the most noble sentiment of which our human nature is capable." (Thomas More)

The Christian is responsible for the welfare of the creatures that God created and placed in this world. The Christians have the privilege to live with these creatures and can enjoy their company, how then can a Christian do or not to do that one evil being bound by TV and other media? Never!

Bible says:

The fair has regard for the life of his beast: but the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel. Proverbs 12:10

To know the state of thy flocks; put your heart upon thy flocks, Proverbs 27:23
Coraçãos know people when we relate to animals.

Peace.
