Hollywood is a billion dollar industry that exports the entertainment of American culture for almost all countries of the world, and between executives, directors and actors, there are Christians that succeed and end up occupying prominent positions.
The recent attention of Hollywood movie studios parafilmes Christian-themed or adaptations of Bible stories is due in part to the presence of Christians in the industry.
A list of the twelve most powerful Christians in Hollywood was presented by Beliefnet website, citing famous names in Brazil and other still unknown to the general public.
In the listing that contains actors as Mel Gibson, Denzel Washington and Martin Sheen, is also producing films with big budget and international repercussions.
One of these producers is Scott Derrickson, responsible for the production of the film The Exorcism of Emily Rose and still Hellraiser: Inferno.
Already Howard Kazanjian became renowned for productions of Raiders of the Lost Ark and Return of the Jedi, films considered the two most successful Hollywood projects on commercial terms. Howard also operates a program that trains Christians to work with Hollywood cinema.
Already Philip Anschutz, a billionaire entrepreneur is responsible for the funding of family films successful worldwide as The Chronicles of Narnia, based on the book of the Christian writer C. S. Lewis, and Ray, a biopic of singer Ray Charles, among others. The main motivation for investing in his movies in this category would be the need for entertainment without violence or explicit sex: "My wife and I now have a number of grandchildren who are growing up surrounded by products of this culture, and therefore, there are four or five years ago I decided to stop cursing the darkness, "he said, justifying his stance to stop complaining and invest.
There are still the team "powerful Christian" in Hollywood, other names such as producer Martha Williamson, the series Touched by the Angel, the actress and singer Kristin Chenoweth, who owns the curriculum series and movies that were successful in the U.S. market; actress Angela Bassett, with nominations for the Oscar, Emmy (TV's highest award in the United States) and Golden Globe winner, Ralph Winter, producer of such films as Planet of the Apes, Fantastic Four and X-Men trilogies for eDeixados back; Patricia Heaton, actress sitcom Everybody Loves Raymond and winner of two Emmy's, and finally, actor Tyler Perry, with movies and TV shows hitting record audience in the U.S. market.
